Why Crohn’s and Colitis?
Like many people there are certain life changing events that change both our knowledge and view of the world. For me that was when a family member was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
Crohn’s is an auto immune disorder that affects the bodies digestive system anywhere from the mouth to the colon. It has many symptoms, some severe and currently there is no cure. While there are effective treatments to manage Crohn’s, researchers are trying to establish the causation for this disease beyond a genetic predisposition.
Canada has the highest incidence of Crohn’s disease in the world.
At Barrie House Hub we make a considerable donation to Crohn's and Colitis Canada for every home that we purchase or sell for our clients.
It’s our way of giving back in a hope that one day there may be a cure for this lifelong disease.
