If you are a mountain biker the opportunities in Simcoe county are endless. Trails can be found throughout the City of Barrie and all the outlying townships including Springwater and Oro-Medonte. Hardwwod Hills was used as a venue in 2015 Pan American games for mounain biking.
2. The Beaches
Whether it is Centennial Beach in Barrie, the numerous beaches in Orillia and Oro-Medonte, Innisfil Beach Park in Innisfil or the World's longest fresh water beach in Wasaga Beach. The options are endless and the water is clean for all types of watersports. The beaches in Simcoe are truly an amazing summer time gem that are easy to take for granted. When you see people coming from surrounding municipalities and the GTA to take advantage of what is in our back yard, is when you realize how fortunate we are to have this at our fingertips.
3. Residents of Simcoe are able to take advantage of things that the City of Toronto have to offer, yet are only a 45 to 60 minute drive away.
The Go Train service is expanding and offers trips on weekends as well as weekdays so Jays games, the theatre and a day of shopping couldn't be easier if you don't want to drive.
4. While home prices in Simcoe County have increased over the last two years, homes here are more affordable than they are in the GTA and the City of Toronto.
he City of Barrie can still offer relatively affordable house prices when compared to Toronto and the GTA. Each community within Simcoe County all have a real community feel with festivals, fairs and events particularly all summer long.
5. Not to be outdone by the summer, winter in Simcoe county is also exceptionally busy as well.
Home to downhill skiing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, snow shoeing and snow mobile trails. Residents of Simcoe enjoy all of these activities again in their own home town.
